What does TVOC mean?
TVOC stands for Total Volatile Organic Compounds. It refers to a wide range of organic chemicals that can be found in the air we breathe.
TVOCs are considered pollutants in indoor environments, as their presence can contribute to poor air quality and potential health hazards. Some common TVOCs include benzene, formaldehyde, toluene, xylene, and various other organic compounds.
Monitoring TVOC levels is important in assessing indoor air quality and identifying potential sources of contamination. High levels of TVOCs can lead to adverse health effects, including irritation of the eyes, nose, and throat, headaches, dizziness, and in some cases, even long-term health issues. How is the DT-9883M model different to the DT-9881M model?
The DT-9883M model is able to detect Carbon Dioxide (CO²) levels as well as formaldehyde (HCHO) levels in the air, where the DT-9881M cannot. However, the DT-9881M is able to detect Carbon monoxide levels (CO) in the air, where the DT-9883M cannot. Both are able to count the particles in the air as well as give a reading for mass concentration levels.
